Unfortunately, AIIMS emphasizes that the decision to recruit 80% of females is by taking into consideration the level of patients’ comfort. But, this would make sense only if the proportion of female population is significantly higher than that of males. Otherwise, there is no reasonable rationale for a male patient to claim that he is more comfortable when a female nurse cares for him.
A ” sensitive” area for females according to AIIMS authorities could be patients with some gynecological conditions. However, the portion occupied by these category of patients also will be small when compared to the total population of patients. So, I don’t believe that patient’s comfort can be pointed as a reason to recruit 80:20 proportion of female and male nurses.
Gander description, is an good example given in our nursing filed, n more other fields it’s just our negative thinking, Women’s are good in their ways n man’s are good in there ways.. We are one now we work as nurse, no one will call as by girl or boy nurse we are just nurse… Law passed but still it’s going on.. It should change …
Thanks for giving me oportunity to know and help the people who are affected and may be affected by this act of violance …it is one of the trending topic in all over the world mostly in rural and underdeveloping places as well as citirs and well developed sectors also ..in educational and working sectors it is mostly practice ..and it should be stop and eradicate by its roots…
Gender equality is the main bone of contention in all fields and nursing profession is no different. Equal opportunity should be given to all genders and for profession to grow gender neutrality is very much necessary
Gender discrimination is violation of articles 14and 16of constitution.if govt want to empower females , 33,% reservation for female bill to be passed by parliament. This is against the law of equality.
Thank you
