There is a viral forward message getting circulated on social media since the COVID-19 outbreak. In this, it is claimed that there has been no death in Israel because they used a combination of Lemon and Bicarbonate.

On the fact check, we found that there is no scientific evidence about this combination of household items and moreover Isreal also has been a victim of the COVID-19 as any other country. State of Israel, Ministry of Health- Press Release.

The combination claimed has not mentioned the amount and ratio, but if it is consumed, it can be harmful to the health instead of benefiting. This false claim could have surged from the theory shared online that “alkalizing” diets help prevent cancer. This theory is based on the idea that cancer cells thrive in highly acidic environments, meaning that an alkaline diet could help prevent the disease. This theory has been denied by experts in the field like the American Institute for Cancer Research. The institute says, “The studies finding that cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment were done in a laboratory setting.

Therefore, please help us to stop the spread of such fake information. Some people do it in a good faith but it may turn out to be disastrous to many. Being a healthcare personnel, we have more responsibility towards the sociaty.
